About Serina
I graduated top 5% of my class in Cognitive Science, specializing in Human Computer Interaction. I went to the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and was fortunate enough to study with Don Norman, Ed Hutchins, and David Kirsh.
I have over 15 years of experience in a wide range of work environments, ranging from academia, agency, and start-ups, to large enterprise corporations.
I've worn many hats, from designing software products to managing design teams, to nerding out on conversion-based marketing, user research, and account management. I'm drawn to work that inspire and lift people up, within teams and in products.
Outside of work, I am an active musician in Seattle and travel as often as I can.
My goal is to connect humans with each other, and the things they use everyday. I believe that when deeper connections happen, we empower each other and build a better world.
Start with why. Understanding why and framing the problem creates a charter for moving forward.
Leave your ego outside. The more we listen and understand others, the better the product we create for the human using it.
Be radically honest and kind. Being transparent and compassionate is important in maintaining a healthy, growing work environment.
Collaborate. Every unique role brings a different perspective to the table
Never stop growing. Our world and our lives are constantly evolving, and so should the things we make. Always figure out how to monitor, tweak, and transform for the better.
